The First Katrina Warriors Network Festival

is a cultural celebration of the creativity, activism, and courage of the women and girls of New Orleans and the Gulf South.
WHEN AND WHERE
The Katrina Warriors Festival will take place at venues throughout New Orleans and the Gulf South beginning March 8th and ending April 10th, leading into the V TO THE TENTH Celebration Weekend April 11-12. All Katrina Warriors Network Festival events are planned, hosted, and sponsored by individuals or groups interested in ending violence against, and supporting the well-being of women and girls. This includes activities focused on raising awareness of the impacts on women and girls of the ongoing crisis in the Gulf South, increasing activism, improving education, celebrating creativity, and encouraging healing. If you are hosting a relevant event in the region during this period, please join the festival!

You may also submit calendar items on paper to: Ashe Cultural Arts Center, 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70113. Ashe fax: 504 569 9075, Ashe phone: 504*569*9070. Blank KWF paper event forms at Ashe CAC or call Ashe CAC to have a form mailed/faxed to you.
These events, along with the over 3,000 other V-Day benefit events taking place, throughout the world, will shine a spotlight on The Women of New Orleans and the Gulf South !!!
FUNDRAISING
Raising money is not a mandatory part of hosting a Katrina Warriors Network Festival event. However, in keeping with the V-Day model of empowerment philanthropy, we encourage fund-raising as part of Katrina Warriors Network activism and suggest that a portion of monies raised at Katrina Warriors Network Festival events be donated to local anti-violence and women’s groups.
